emma
Spent the holiday weekend caring for an ailing boarder, a tortie by the name of Emma. We're not sure what's wrong with her. Cats are funny that way, suffice to say it's neurological and it could be serious and life-threatening, or temporary, self-correcting, and nothing at all to worry about. Can't say for sure, will know for sure in about a week. Either she'll be perfectly healthy, or have to be put down.
So, for the next week our prayers, attention, and all the blessings we can muster around here are very much with Emma; who is now hiding underneath the guest bed, and apparently is a bit picture-shy.
Luna's adapting, and at times forgets just how pissed she is at the interloper invading her home; she'll let go and become her happy and joyful self, and then you'll see her face change the moment she remembers she's that supposed to be pissed off. It's really kinda cute.
Also spent the weekend planting and pruning and preparing for fall. The garden shelves are now filled with bulbs that need to get inside the ground and soon ... hyacinths, daffodils, alliums, and lavendar (yep, all deer-resistant plants, so find somebody else's beautiful mistakes to gorge upon, Bambi).
Fit in some good rides too, in Golden Gate Canyon Park where I was spent (such a good feeling!), and Bergen Peak. I always forget how good that ride is.
Fall's knocking on the door, Halloween crap's in the stores already. Holy Jebus that was fast.
